How It Works — the cartridge difference
Fujikura's S-series splicers changed the electrode from a bare rod to a cartridge: the rod is fixed in a clear plastic holder that seats in the machine one way only. That makes field changes faster and keeps fingers off the tip — but it also means the S-series takes its own electrode style, which is exactly what K-E2 is.
The fit list runs across the series: 27S, 28S, 37S and 38S, the 28S+ and 38S+, the 66S, and the 87S and 88S with their + versions. Order by the model on your machine; the pair arrives matched, you drop both cartridges in, and run the arc calibration the splicer asks for.
Compatibility note: these are aftermarket replacement electrodes, our model K-E2. They are not original Fujikura parts. Fujikura is a trademark of its owner; the name is used only to describe the splicers these electrodes fit.
