How a Launch Cable Works
Connect the launch cable between the OTDR and the link under test. The OTDR's pulse travels the launch fiber first; by the time it reaches the link, the pulse has settled and the instrument's dead zone sits harmlessly inside the launch fiber. The link's first connector now shows on the trace as a measurable event, with its loss readable like any other.
For the far end, add a second launch cable as a receive fiber: the last connector gets the same treatment, measured before the trace runs out. Length is chosen against the OTDR's pulse width and the link — 500 m covers most access-network work.
Between tests the fiber stays in its case: unspool only the leads, keep the connectors capped and clean, and the launch fiber's own end faces stay reference-grade — a dirty launch connector prints itself onto every trace you take.

Questions about the K-125
Can the K-125 carry our own brand?
Private labeling is made to your requirements and confirmed per order — labels with your logo, part numbers and barcodes on the tools, the inner boxes and the outer cartons, ready for your warehouse. The products most often labeled are the K-35 cleaver, the KS-1 Kevlar shears and the K-870 stripper.
Can we order a small lot, unbranded?
Yes. Neutral stock is held for the core range: small lots are welcome, you can mix models in one shipment, and restock as you sell. Prices are on request — EXW factory pricing.
