How It Works — a full circle of edges
Sumitomo's R-series cleavers rotate their blade automatically, working around the disc position by position — 24 positions on this pattern — so no single arc of the edge takes all the wear. The CB-6S is our blade for that system: Ø20 mm across, 4 mm thick, tungsten steel, made to the FCP-20BL(7R) pattern those cleavers take, and rated by its maker for 78,000 cleaves.
When the last position is spent, the swap is the field job the cleaver was designed around: old disc out, CB-6S in, count restarted. Crews running FC-6RS, FC-6R+, FC-7R or FC-8R cleavers keep the spare in the case, not on a purchase order.
Compatibility note: this is an aftermarket replacement blade, our model CB-6S. It is not an original Sumitomo part. Sumitomo and the cleaver model names are trademarks of Sumitomo Electric Industries; the names are used only to identify the cleavers this blade fits.

How long does the blade last?
