Compression vs Crimp — What Changes
A hex crimper squeezes a soft ring into six flats; a compression tool pushes the connector's internal sleeve straight down the cable, wedging it between jacket and connector body. The result is a round, sealed, high-retention joint — the standard for modern F-connector work.
Set the plunger for your connector first: different brands compress different distances. One test connector on a scrap end confirms the stroke; after that, every connector of that brand seats the same.
