Armored Cable Slitter K-ACS-2
The small-cable armored slitter: the red roller sizes the same one-hand body down to cables from 4 to 10 mm — the armored micro and branch cables a full-size roller cannot grip — with the same adjustable blade and the same 90° slit-or-ring lever, scoring jacket and armor in one pass.
Typical work: Mid-span access on small armored branch and drop cables; End entry into splice closures; Slitting armored micro cables of 4–10 mm; FTTH distribution cable preparation.

K-ACS-2 key features
- Red roller, small-cable range: the red guide roller closes the same body down to cables from 4 to 10 mm — armored micro cables and small branch and drop constructions that a full-size roller cannot sit on or steer
- Jacket and armor in one pass: the hardened alloy steel blade scores through the polyethylene jacket and the corrugated copper, steel or aluminium armor together, opening the cable in a single draw
- Depth set to the cable, not guessed: the dial in the butt of the handle drives the blade in or out, to 5.5 mm maximum — on a 4 mm cable with a thin jacket, that control is what keeps the blade out of the tube
- Slit or ring with one lever: flip the blade 90° to switch between a lengthwise slit and a circumferential ring cut — the two moves of mid-span work, made without changing tools
- A matched pair on the truck: the same cast body, knurled barrel handle and stored hex key as the 8–28.6 mm K-ACS — the two slitters are told apart at a glance by the roller colour
- Supplied neutral and unbranded as standard; private labeling is made to your requirements — labels with your logo, part numbers and barcodes on the inner boxes and outer cartons, so the goods arrive ready for your warehouse

How the K-ACS-2 opens a small armored cable
Small armored cables — the 4 to 10 mm micro and branch constructions that feed distribution points and buildings — carry the same build as their big brothers in miniature: jacket, corrugated armor, and a tube with very little wall between the armor and the fibers. A full-size slitter cannot help here: its roller groove is bored for big cable, so a small cable floats in it and the blade line wanders. The K-ACS-2's red roller is grooved for the small range, and that groove is what holds the cut true.
Seat the cable in the hook and bring the red roller down with the tension knob until its groove centres the cable under the blade. Set the blade depth on the dial at the butt of the handle — on thin small-cable jackets the right setting is shallow, well inside the 5.5 mm maximum — and prove it on a scrap end: armor parted, tube unmarked. Draw the tool along and the roller walks the cable while the blade scores jacket and armor in one line, ready to peel.
Flip the blade lever 90° and the same head ring-cuts. Mid-span on a live branch cable, ring at both ends of the window, slit between the rings, and lift the shell: the fibers you need are in reach and the rest of the run stays closed. At the end of a drop or branch cable it rings and slits to dress the cable into its closure, exactly as the big slitter does at trunk size.
Respect the top of the range: a cable over 10 mm will not seat in the red roller's groove, and forcing the head down only tips the blade off line — cables from 8 mm up belong to the gold-roller K-ACS or the double-handle K-ACS-1. Keep the roller groove brushed clear of armor filings, and when the blade dulls, change it with the hex key stored in the body and re-prove the depth on scrap.

Questions about the K-ACS-2
Which cables does the K-ACS-2 fit?
Round jacketed and armored cables from 4 to 10 mm outside diameter — armored micro cables and small branch and drop constructions. For cables from 8 mm up, use the gold-roller K-ACS or the double-handle K-ACS-1.
Why is the roller red?
The roller colour is the range code across the family: red closes the body down to 4–10 mm cables, gold covers 8–28.6 mm. The right roller is picked at a glance in the kit — the groove has to match the cable for the blade line to run true.
Can the K-ACS-2 carry our own brand?
Private labeling is made to your requirements and confirmed per order — labels with your logo, part numbers and barcodes on the tools, the inner boxes and the outer cartons, ready for your warehouse. The products most often labeled are the K-35 cleaver, the KS-1 Kevlar shears and the K-870 stripper.
Can we order a small lot, unbranded?
Yes. Neutral stock is held for the core range: small lots are welcome, you can mix models in one shipment, and restock as you sell. Prices are on request — EXW factory pricing.
